My son and I absolutely loved the workshop today. Although it’s a workshop aimed at kids, I really enjoyed making my own beach scene alongside my son. He’s not stopped talking about how much he enjoyed it and can’t wait to come to another workshop! Jonty and Amanda were incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great morning!

My friend and i attended this course recently and not only had a lot of fun we learnt a huge amount too. We both have varying degrees of DIY knowledge and Jonty was so accommodating of this and this resulted in a really productive day where we have both walked away with so much more confidence. This course is worth every penny!

I attended the course with two others. Jonty was a very good teacher managing instruction to all three of us on this course and making it an enjoyable day. His enthusiasm for wood and woodworking was infectious and I believe,the others, all enjoyed the day very much. This is a really indispensable day if you want to understand exactly what it takes to do decorating jobs properly. I came away with all the know-how I need to tackle decorating with confidence. Fantastic and fun too!

This was honestly an amazing experience! My son designed his village before attending and was so excited to turn it into reality. He had so much fun learning a new skill and designing his village and so did I. We will be back soon. Thank you for a wonderful unique experience.

I did this course quite a few years ago as a woman in her late 30s who had finally accepted that her husband was never going to do DIY and was too Northern to pay for it. I knew nothing…not even how to use a drill. After the course I put up a toilet roll holder, a curtain rail and then had such confidence from the course my next project was building a full media wall with a built in electric fire, TV and sound bar!

I even plastered it myself, this wasn’t covered by the course and I don’t recommend :D

Plastering aside, this course has paid for itself about 20 times over. Even if you choose to pay someone for some tasks in the future, knowing that you’re capable of all these tasks is worth its weight in gold.

I couldn’t recommend this course more, I’m on the website today looking at their woodworking and carpentry skills course because I’ve gone from “I’ve never held a drill” to being a woman who owns her own electric mitre saw, circular saw and jigsaw and is eyeing up all the woodwork projects.

Bought this kit for my 11 year old for handicraft skills (he’s home educated). It was his first introduction to wood working and using tools. We bought the beginners tool set and set him up a workspace in the garage. He got through the first three videos in one sitting. Great set, quality tools and very well explained. Highly recommended! Looking forward to more kits being released.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but really enjoyed my day at the workshop, with other keenie beanies, desperate to learn! Jonty, who is clearly very experienced in his field, explained everything in a clear and logical manner, but was not at all dry. He gave us plenty of opportunity to practice, make mistakes and learn from them and was generous with his time, answering any questions, that we had. It was clear from the comments of fellow attendees that they enjoyed the day as much as I and that they were planning to go back for the next level of DIY, as am I!

I really loved this day, a great group of fellow diy novices in a well organised, well equipped workshop. Jonty is welcoming, informative and very patient, no question too silly to ask him. There was much laughter and lots of hands on experimenting. I am hoping to practise the techniques Jonty taught us and then I’ll be back for the follow on workshop. Thoroughly recommend!

If you want to increase your knowledge and abilities on how to build virtually anything, then this is defiantly the woodworking course to take.
The instructions and information provided by Jonty is top notch, and the facility has everything available to meet the requirements of this course, and more.
You'll pick up various tips and ideas as throughout your time on the course and will come away having undertaken the construction of a small carcass, and experimented with applying some different types of joints.
I think this course is great value for money given the wealth of information I came away with, and I hope to do another course, possibly more advanced, again in the future.

I attended Jonty's DIY in a day course and it didn't disappoint. I have carried out some basic DIY at home over the years but had always set about projects with trepidation. Not any more...Jonty's course is very informative, fun, informal and entertaining! I am now set to tackle projects with more confidence AND so enjoyable was the beginners course that I have signed myself up to the next more advanced course. Thanks Jonty!
