Discover the joy of woodwork and make a lovely planter on a relaxed one-day workshop in the heart of the countryside.
Try your hand at woodworking on this one-day course for complete beginners and learn how to transform a simple plank of pine into a stunning planter for your windowsill.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is suitable for all ages over 18 and no prior woodworking experience is required.
Older teens age 16+ can attend but will not be allowed to use the power saws so this will have to be done for them.
HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
This beginners woodworking course runs from 10am - 4pm on selected dates. Please see the calendar above for availability.
WHAT SKILLS WILL I LEARN?
• Using a power saw
• Accurate measuring and marking
• Shaping wood using rasps and files
• Proper sanding techniques
• Finishing with wood wax
• Assembly using glue, nails and clamps
ABOUT THE COURSE:
We'll start at the beginning and show you how to use the tools properly and safely.
We'll show you how to mark accurate dimensions properly and cut your pieces to length using a power saw before moving on to sanding, shaping and assembly using a whole range of tools and methods.
You'll learn how to finish wood properly using wax and leave with a fantastic box you can use to put plants in on the windowsill or store anything you like!
Even if you've never done woodwork before, you'll leave with a fantastic planter and will have great fun along the way.
We'll show you everything you need to know to complete your planter like a pro and send you home with a project you can be truly proud of.
Please note that plants and plant pots are not included. The finished size of the planter is approximately 150mm wide x 300mm long.

• Power Saw
• Wood Glue
• Hammer and Nails
• Sand paper
• Pillar Drill
• Jacobean Wax
• Clamps
• Combination Square, ruler and marking knife
WHERE IS THE COURSE?
This course is run in our workshop in Church Crookham, Hampshire, just off the A287 on the Hampshire / Surrey border. We are extremely proud of the Ash & Co workshop and offer a safe and friendly environment that welcomes all ages and genders to share in our passion for making.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?:
All the tools and safety equipment you will need are provided for the duration of the course so you only need to bring yourself and a willingness to get stuck in!
Lunch is not provided so we recommend bringing a packed lunch. Alternatively there is an M&S food store a few minutes drive away where you can pick something up in the lunch break.
