What is an Ash & Co. Kids! Workshop?
Makers who have enjoyed these sessions before know that they're not your average craft activity!
We believe children should have a chance to experience working with real wood and proper tools and let their creativity and imagination run wild.
Their pride and sense of achievement at making something awesome will absolutely make your day.
On arrival, young makers will choose what they would like to build from our workshop menu of woodwork and craft projects.
They will have access to hand tools, accessories, decorations, paints, scrap wood and more to make totally awesome creations!
Suitable for children aged 5 and up, these sessions are a fun creative activity that teach children hands-on woodworking skills in a safe environment.
Children will learn new skills including how to use basic hand tools, sand wood and connect pieces together using dowels, screws and glue. They will have the opportunity to paint and customise their project and leave with a huge sense of pride and a fantastic imaginative creation built with their own hands.
Based on the Hampshire / Surrey border, Jonty and Amanda’s warm welcome always makes everyone feel at home in the workshop and they will be on hand to offer tuition and advice throughout the session.
---
Please note:
Children must be accompanied by a grown-up at all times in the workshop. They will have access to tools, unsanded wood, glues etc and must be properly supervised.
- One adult can supervise one or two children. Supervising adults are free-of-charge.
- For older children (around age 9+), one adult to three kids is fine.
- Adults can make too! Just book a bench space or let us know on arrival and your project can be paid on the day.
- Please do not bring children under the age of three into the workshop as it is not a safe environment for them.

Hi Annmarie, thank you for your lovely review and feedback on the workshop We loved seeing your daughter's creations and hope to see you again soon.
Thoroughly enjoyed by both Oscar and myself and very proud of what he did. First time for him but keen to do it again
My 6&7yr old boys did this workshop after I did the DIY Day. Jonty was so informative, enthusiastic and encouraging. The boys loved every minute and learned so many skills. They’ve taken Jonty’s infectious enthusiasm home and have been building there- toy laptops, crazy characters. The youngest has even set up a woodshop in his bedroom, so he can think about his design plans! We’re going to make a tool pegboard next.,.combining what they and I have learned! Such a brilliant afternoon- we didn’t want to leave!
Wow, thank you for your lovely review Malthi. It's wonderful to hear you are all putting your skills to good use :-)
Voted best bit of the summer holidays by my seven year old. Brilliant experience and great thing to do together. Friendly welcome, chance to develop new skills in a safe environment and the accessory boxes really let them unleash their creativity. I love that each creation is unique. We will be back for sure.
Aww this is so lovely! Thank you for the great feedback and we can't wait to see you again in the workshop
