What's in the kit?

The Young Woodworkers' project kit comes with all the pine wood blocks and nails needed to build your set of projects, as well as an 8oz claw hammer, pencil and sandpaper. We also include dowels and 3D printed connectors to build with and custom stickers, decorations and even some spare blocks for maximum creativity.

Each project is easy to build and comes with a step-by-step instruction sheet and access to an online video tutorial to help you create the workshop experience in your home.

The kit includes an 8oz claw hammer to start your young makers tool collection. This is lightweight and ideal for smaller hands whilst still being a 'real' tool - this is certainly not a cheap toy hammer!

We've also included a pencil, a selection of nails and some of our top-notch sandpaper - everything you need to complete the projects is in the box.

A: The kit is designed for children aged around 5–11, depending on confidence and ability. 

Q: Are these real tools or toy tools?
A: These are real tools, not toys. We’ve chosen an 8oz hammer specifically for smaller hands, so children can learn proper techniques with real tools, just like we teach in our workshops.

Q: Does my child need any experience?
A: No experience at all! The kit is designed for complete beginners, with clear guidance to help kids build skills step by step and feel proud of what they make.

Q: Is adult supervision required?
A: Yes, children are using real tools so adult supervision is a must. This makes it a brilliant parent–child activity and a great way to spend quality time together.

Q: How long does the project take?

Q: Is the kit safe?
A: Our instructions and videos full demonstrate how to use a hammer and nails in a safe way. The kit must always be used under adult supervision children and the instructions followed for a safe experience.

Q: Be honest… is it actually any good?
A: We understand the worry. There’s a lot of disappointing ‘tat’ out there! But this kit is based on what we’ve taught thousands of children in our real workshops, refined over years. It’s practical, tested, and genuinely enjoyed, not something we’ve thrown together to look good in photos.

A: That’s absolutely fine, you don’t need them! The kit is designed for complete beginners. Many parents tell us they learn something too!
