Makers, start your engines!

Come and feel the thrill of this fun workshop where you will build your own wooden car and then race it down our super-fast custom built track! Woodwork has never been this fun!

Scrappy Races is a family-friendly workshop where children enjoying working with their grown-ups to build a car they'll cherish, have loads of fun and make awesome memories.

You will begin the workshop by making your custom wooden car. With loads of body types and accessories to choose from, you can make an F1 style replica, a low-rider, a 20’s style race car, a sheriff car and many more!

Makers can add wooden exhausts, jet packs, spoilers, boosters, engines, steering wheels and a range of other components to create their very own master piece before attaching the wheels and decorating to perfection.

Once the all important car number is on, it’s race time!

Kids (and grown-ups!) will be jumping for joy when the countdown starts and every competitor has a turn pressing the big start button to release the cars and start the race.

Everyone is encouraged to take part throughout the racing by either joining the pit crew or assisting with the score board team.

Competitors are given points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places in each race and points are added up at the end to find the top three overall. All competitors are given a small prize just for competing.

The workshop is great for all abilities and enjoyable for everyone aged 5 to 95! Tickets for racers under the age of 14 include a free adult, and children can work with their grown-up as a team if you wish for a really fun way to spend quality time together.

Numbers are limited to a maximum of 16 children in the workshop and the event will last between 2 and 3 hours depending on the final number of competitors.
