Enjoy an evening in our workshop making a beautiful cheese board you can bring out at the next dinner party and say “I made that!”
Suitable for beginners and more experienced woodworkers alike, our three hour course will guide you through the process of making your own cheese board, chopping board or serving platter using the finest quality, furniture grade hardwood. You will be able to choose from a range of templates and pick your favourite wood from English Ash, Prime Oak or American Black Walnut. All materials are included in the price.
Starting with your chosen template and block of wood, our friendly instructor will show you how to transform it into a truly beautiful and food safe cheese board using top quality tools and processes in just three hours.
You will begin the evening by marking out your wood before heading to the bandsaw to trim off the excess and learn how to make a good cut.
You can decide if you want to use a router to add a professional round-over or choose to finish by hand to get the perfect edge that's just right for you.
And that’s not all. You will also learn how to expertly sand and apply a natural, food-safe finish to the cheese board to ensure it will be quality enough to adorn the table at even the most sophisticated cheese night!
You will finish the evening very relaxed and super proud of yourself with a potential new hobby that you’re sure to love as much as we do. Now that’s better than a night in front of the box, surely?
CHOICE OF WOOD:
As standard, we supply solid English Ash with every course. This is a lovely wood to work with, is quite light in colour with beautiful grain patterns and looks great when finished.
If you prefer you can upgrade to Prime Oak which has a richer colour and wonderful grain texture.
If you really want to push the boat out, you can opt for American Black Walnut which really is the cream of the crop and makes beautiful tableware.

• Router Table
• 80, 120, 180 Grit Sanding Blocks
