THE COURSE: In just one really enjoyable and relaxed day, you will learn how to use a power drill and hammer drill properly and safely and even how to choose the right one at the DIY shop! We’ll show you how to drill into wood, metal and masonry like a pro and show you how to figure out what’s behind that wall before you start drilling!
You will practice hanging a set of shelves the proper way using the right wall fixings and a spirit level and you will leave knowing how to hang your own shelves and curtain rails as well as understanding how to build your own shelves into alcoves or any other spot you fancy.
And that’s not all! We’ll show you how to hold and use a saw properly, show you why you need different saws for different materials and get you having a go with some superb power saws which get the job done with ease.
By the end of the day, you will understand how to use a hammer properly, how to choose the right drill bit and drill settings to get the right result, how to use a tape measure, markings and spirit levels to hang anything you want perfectly level every time. You will know how to choose the right screwdriver for the job, how to set up any drill with ease and how to have fun doing it!
The DIY in a Day course is suitable for DIY beginners of all ages. It’s the perfect introduction to everything DIY and you will leave the workshop with a set of skills that will last a lifetime.
