HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?

This woodworking course lasts for approximately two hours but allow more just in case it takes longer.

WHAT SKILLS WILL I LEARN?
Sanding like a pro for a smooth, professional finish
• Cutting curves with a coping saw, then shaping with rasps and files
Using a cordless drill safely and confidently
• Accurate marking and measuring
• Assembly techniques using clamps and nails

ABOUT THE COURSE:
You’ll start with pre-cut pieces of quality pine and learn how to prepare, shape and assemble them into a sturdy, stylish apple crate.

We'll start by properly sanding all our pieces and you'll learn how to transform rough planks into beautifully finished pieces.

Next, we'll accurately mark-up where the handles will be and use a coping saw to cut them out. Then, we'll use rasps, files and sandpaper to make the handles beautifully smooth.

Once all the pieces are ready, we'll start assembly and learn how to use a drill, hammer and nails and screws to build the frame of the apple crate.

Once the frame is together, we'll attach the base and a quick final sand to finish.

We’ll take you step by step through sanding, cutting, drilling and assembly. It’s a brilliant introduction to woodworking in a relaxed, friendly environment and you'll leave with a lovely crate made by you!

WHAT TOOLS WILL I USE?

• Hammer
• Nails
• Clamps
• Glue
• Rasps
