Join us on the Jubilee bank holiday weekend for a right royal workshop!
2nd & 3rd June, 10:30am - 12:30pm & 1:30 - 3:30pm
Looking for family fun on the jubilee weekend? Come to the workshop and build your own Queen and Corgi keepsake to celebrate her platinum jubilee!
At this workshop we'll make not one but two royally brilliant wooden characters. You’ll learn how to properly sand the hardwood components using top-quality 120 grit sandpaper. Then we'll build the characters using the connector dowels and a variety of hand tools. There's even a chance to use a hand plane to make the Queen's curls if you wish!
Once built it’s time to decorate. You will have special 3D printed gold accessories (designed and printed right here in the workshop) to add to your characters and in your bench space will be all the usual tools, accessories, extra scrap wood, fabric, wood curls and more needed to make your totally awesome creations!
Suitable for children aged 5 and up, this workshop will be a fun creative activity that teaches children hands-on woodworking skills in a safe environment.
Children will learn new skills including how to use basic hand tools, sand wood and connect pieces together using dowels or glue. They will leave with a huge sense of pride and a fantastic imaginative creation built with their own hands.
Based on the Hampshire / Surrey border, Jonty's warm welcome always makes everyone feel at home in the workshop and he will be on hand to offer tuition and advice throughout the session.
Children must be accompanied by a grown-up at all times in the workshop. They will have access to tools, un-sanded wood, glues etc and must be properly supervised.
So will everyone get to make both a Queen and a Corgi?
Yes. The Queen and Corgi together make up this workshop project.
One bench space = one project.
Can two children share a bench space?
Yes, but please bear in mind that they will also share the project. If you have two children and one wants to make the Queen and one wants to make the Corgi then this could be a good option for you!
Do I have to pay for supervising adults?
No, supervising adults are free-of-charge.
How many children can one adult supervise?
One adult can supervise one or two children. For older children (around age 9+), one adult to three kids is fine.
Orders are sent by courier and we currently expect parcels to take around 3-4 days from dispatch.
