Come and join us in the workshop and build your very own gorgeous light-up wooden house which can be used as a lovely decoration or calming night light.
Suitable for beginners including family pairs working together (with older children age 10+), our four hour course will guide you through the process of making your own house which you can take home the same day.
Jonty, your friendly instructor will teach you a range of skills step by step and work with you to refine your pre-cut components to perfection and help you create something awesome you can keep for life.
• Families welcome (kids age 10+) • Four hour workshop, 2 - 6pm • £85 per bench space, each space can accommodate one adult and one child working together on one house
You will begin the course by studying a finished example and Jonty will talk you through the various steps needed and the tools you will use.
We’ll be learning how to glue on veneer, how to build the house and roof, how to prepare the real cherry wood base and trees as well as working with miniature hinges for the door.
We’ll finish off by applying a coat of oil to the project and adding our lovely string lights to make your house shine beautifully.
This is a fairly tricky assembly and finishing project which requires the use of very sharp craft knives in places. As such, families attending should bear that in mind and we recommend this is suitable for children ages 10+ if they are craft minded and happy to get really stuck in to a detailed project.
Families working together must only bring two people in total per bench space booked and can split the jobs between them. If more than two spaces are required then please contact us and we will try and fit you in if we have room on the course.
THE WOOD: The house base is made from real Cherry Hardwood and the trees from a variety of hardwoods including ash, Sapele and American Black Walnut.
